Here is a list of Best Free Dead Pixel Test Software For Windows. These dead pixel test software help you detect a dead pixel on your LCD/LED screens. Moreover, some dead pixel test software also claim to fix/repair the stuck pixels.

All of these software work on the same principle of flashing colors. You can change the colors either manually or automatically after some defined period. During a dead pixel test, you should look at the screen carefully. Hence, it is advised to clean the screen with a soft cloth so that the dust particles will not disturb the LCD test.

While some of these dead pixel test software offer a custom color feature, some do not. The custom color feature lets you perform a dead pixel test on your own choice of color. Besides this, some dead pixel finder come with different patterns to detect a dead pixel.

These software might also work on some CRT and TFT display screens, but I am not definitely sure. I tested all of these software on different displays including LCD, LED, and even on CRT, but all the displays were healthy. Hence, no dead pixel was detected.

DeadPix is my favorite dead pixel test software. Besides finding a dead pixel, it also claims to repair stuck pixel. It comes with four pre-defined colors and one customizable color to perform a dead pixel test.

Dead Pixel Buddy is also a good choice for monitor pixel test. Its interface shows the examples of dead pixels. This lets you know what a dead pixel is and how does it look like. Moreover, you can also set a time cycle (in seconds) to test dead pixels.

DeadPix

DeadPix is a free dead pixel finder software. It is a two-in-one software which is intended to find and fix stuck pixels on an LCD or LED screen. For that, you get two options: Locator (to find the dead pixel) and Pixel Fixer (to fix the pixel).

The Locator section comes with five colors (four fixed colors and one custom color) to perform an LCD test. You can select any of the four colors (red, green, blue, and black) manually or let them change at a particular interval of time by enabling Random option.

If any dead pixel is found during the test, you can fix it with the help of Pixel Fixer. For this, you need to select the area where dead pixel is available.

Dead Pixel Buddy

Dead Pixel Buddy is a free dead pixel test software for Windows. It helps you find and locate the dead pixels on your desktop screen.

Examples of dead pixels are also given on the interface for those who do not have any idea about dead pixels.

Procedure to perform LCD test with Dead Pixel Buddy:

Performing a monitor pixel test with this software is very simple. Six colors are provided on its interface with numbers 1 to 6. On pressing any of these number keys, the entire screen is filled with the respective color. To change the color, press another number key from 1 to 6. If your desktop has any dead pixel, it will appear on the screen on any of the colors during testing. If you want to change these colors automatically at some definite interval of time, that option is also provided in the software. For this, the default time is 10 seconds, which can be changed by the user.

You can exit pixel test anytime by pressing the ESC key or left click of a mouse.

Out of the aforesaid six colors, 5 are fixed (black, white, red, green, and blue) and the 6th color is a custom color.

Dead Pixel Buddy is a good and portable dead pixel checker.

Dead Pixel Tester (DPT)

Dead Pixel Tester (DPT) is an interesting and featured software to perform monitor pixel test. It comes with more than 30 patterns to detect a dead pixel on your computer’s screen. Some of these patterns include solid, hash 1 (ox), hash 2 (xo), vertical lines 1 (ox), vertical lines 2 (xo), vertical – colour to black, vertical – colour to black, vertical – white to colour, vertical – colour to white, vertical – solid, horizontal – solid, greyscale – dark to light, circles, dots, geometry, etc.

You can change the color of each of the available patterns with the left mouse click or let them change automatically after certain milliseconds (250 to 10000).

Dead Pixel Tester (DPT) also comes with a color palette with some pre-defined colors from which you can choose your favorite color to begin the dead pixel test. Besides this, you can also set a custom color for monitor pixel test.

If there is any dead pixel on your screen, it will be highlighted in any of the colors. No matter whether you have completed the dead pixel test or not, you can abort LCD test anytime by pressing ESC key.

Apart from detecting a dead pixel, you can verify the high and low-intensity areas on the screen, perform fine tuning for brightness and contrast, setup quick brightness, contrast, and color of the display, etc.

Monitor Test

Monitor Test features four different methods to detect a dead pixel. These four methods are RGB Boxes, Grid Lines, Pure White, and Text.

RGB Boxes divides the whole screen into four parts; each having a different color (red, green, blue, and white). You can maximize the white color to full screen in the Pure White method, but I did not find any option to maximize any of the primary colors to full screen. Due to unavailability of this feature, there may be a great chance to miss a dead pixel on the screen. The Grid Lines method generates a grid pattern on the entire screen, whereas Text mode fills the complete screen with some text.

Pixel Test Pro For Windows

Pixel Test Pro For Windows is a dead pixel finder app for Windows 10. In this software, you can switch among 8 given colors to test dead pixel. These 8 colors include red, green, blue, white, cyan, magenta, yellow, and black.

In order to change the colors, you have to select them manually. Or, you can also activate the color cycle, which changes the colors automatically after the set duration of time (in milliseconds). This duration should lie from 1 ms to 5000 ms.

Full screen and compact screen mode are the additional features of this freeware.

Display Tester

Display Tester is another free Windows 10 app to test dead pixel. Along with detecting dead pixels on your desktop screen, it also offers some useful features, like contrast, banding, gamma, sharpness, etc.

The Bad Pixel Detection option lets you perform a dead pixel test. As you begin the bad pixel detection test, your entire screen is filled with white color. You can change the colors by pressing the arrow keys. Display Tester does not have any option to add any custom color, but comes with 8 pre-defined colors to detect a dead pixel: white, black, cyan, magenta, yellow, blue, green, and red. You can run it on both full screen and compact screen modes. Pressing backspace key will terminate the dead pixel test.

This free Display Tester also shows you the information of your display, like device family, OS version, architecture, device manufacturer, device model, device dimensions, etc.

Defpix

Defpix is a very simple dead pixel test software. As you begin monitor pixel test, it fills the entire desktop screen with red color to find any dead pixels. Now, you just have to press any key to change the color. It has only five colors to display. Also, no custom color option is provided in the software.

Whether you find a dead pixel or not, you can terminate the LCD test anytime by pressing ESC key.

Dead Pixel Checker

Dead Pixel Checker uses primary colors (RGB) to test dead pixel. After launching the software, your entire LCD/LED screen will be filled with Red color. You can switch to next two primary colors (green and blue) by pressing left mouse click. Pressing any key on the keyboard will terminate the dead pixel test and quit the Dead Pixel Checker.
