Airytec Switch Off
Airytec Switch Off is a very simple software to remotely shutdown PC. It is actually a type of web application that runs in a web browser, but without an internet connection. This freeware works on IP addresses to control computers remotely. Hence, you should have a static IP address of both master and slave in order to use this software.
To run this software in a web browser, you have to follow the below-listed steps:
- As you double-click on its icon, it starts running in the background. You will find it in the system’s tray.
- Right click on its tray icon and go to Options.
- Now, enable web interface in the Remote tab. If it asks you to enter username and password, enter User as username and admin as password.
- Now you are all set. Launch your web browser and type localhost:8000. Again, type the same username and password.
After the completion of above steps, it starts running in the web browser.
In this software, you will get the following features:
- Shutdown
- Restart
- Sleep
- Hibernate
- Close dial-up (VPN)
To control another computer, enter its IP address in the address bar of the browser in place of localhost. For example, if I want to control the computer with IP address 198.162.10.10, then I will write 198.162.10.10:8000. As you can see, I replaced localhost with its IP address.
The best part of this free software to remotely shutdown PC is that it lets you schedule any process, like turning off a PC after 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, and so on. But, you cannot define your own time for any of these processes.
