Here is a list of Best Free Home Exterior Design Software For Windows. These freeware help you design interior as well as exterior of a house. To design exterior of a house, these let you create landscapes, terrains, decks, swimming pools, ponds, patios, etc. You can even add road, sidewalk, curb ramp, street light, etc. to a home exterior. Additionally, these provide various accessories to decorate garden and other outer areas. Realtime Landscaping Architect is a landscape design software for Windows. This can also be used as a free home exterior design software for Windows. Although it is a commercial software, it provides a demo version which can be used free of charge. This version is feature restricted and contains less number of inbuilt modules. Still, it provides most number of exterior design tools compared to other software. Let’s check out its features.

How to design exterior of house in this free software:

This software offers direct tools to design home exterior. To start with, you can build a house by creating boundaries, doors, windows, etc. After that, you can design and add following exterior house components:

• It provides a landscape designing tool. Using it, you can add region, path, edging, stone edging, hedge, landscape light, rock, plants, etc. elements.
• There are some terrain sculpting tools available to add slope, elevation, contour line, shape, etc. to modify home exterior.
• You can add road, sidewalk, curb ramp, street light, guardrail, etc. to your project.
• It also lets you create deck designs.
• You can further decorate the exterior of your house by adding swimming pools. From its Water Features modules, you can even add fountains, ponds, waterfall, jumping jet, sprinkler, etc.

Else, you can start afresh and create a new home by drawing floor plan, walls, windows, doors, stairs, roofs, etc. You can then enhance exterior of the house using provided tools.

Using this freeware, you can design various aspects of the exterior of a house. These include Path, Plants (grass, flowers, trees), Lighting (lamps, wall lamps), Fencing, Pools, Furniture (swing, benches, patio), etc. You can find these components under Exterior tab. Additionally, you can even create a deck design to add to your house exterior. Some additional items to accessorize exterior design can also be found, such as mailboxes, fountains, columns, Barbeque, etc. You can also get more components using Add Content option. It lets you add at most 5 packages for free. Some of these packages are Gardening Expansion, Sports & Leisure, etc.

You can design a detailed home exterior plan in its 2D Blueprint mode. It also provides 2D Rendered View and 3D View modes. Essential tools like rotate, pan, move, scale, etc. are provided in it.

It lets you save the whole exterior house project in its own format. Apart from that, you can directly print the design or take its screenshot.

DreamPlan is a nice home exterior design software for Windows. I especially liked its simplistic GUI which makes designing process easier.

Live Home 3D

Live Home 3D is a Windows 10 app for creating home designs. It lets you design both interior and exterior of a house.

How to design exterior of house in this exterior design app for Windows 10:

Live Home 3D provides some beautiful home samples with outdoor designs. You can use these samples or simply start with your own design. In the left panel, it provides different components to accessorize your home. These include both interior and exterior components. The outdoor items can be found in different categories like Fences, Swimming Pools, Plants, Cars, etc. It offers a dedicated Outdoor section too where you can find various exterior items. For example, benches, carports, dog house, flower beds, garden pavilion, garden arch, bridges, ponds, garden umbrella, etc.

To add an accessory to your project, simply drag and drop and place it accordingly. You can then modify its input parameters like dimensions, material, etc. You can add text labels, dimensions, etc. to exterior plan. For designing and navigating purpose, it provides 2D Plan and 3D View modes. Additionally, it offers fly around a selected point, walkthrough, and look around from current position options to enhance designing experience.

The 3D view of exterior design can be exported as an image. While doing so, you can select a size, view (normal or panorama view), etc. Supported file formats include JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and BMP. You can also directly print exterior plan and design. Other than that, it lets you share home exterior design via email, OneNote, etc.

Live Home 3D is a great exterior design app for Windows 10. It is one of my favorite alternative to an exterior design software. It is extremely easy to use plus provides essential and advances features to create lively home designs.

Note: The free version of this app is feature restricted. For example, output image contains a watermark, save function is disabled, etc. To enjoy it’s all features, you need to upgrade to its paid version.

SituHome is one more free home exterior design software in this list. It provides an Outdoor module which contains different sections to design house exterior. These sections include:

• Outdoor Structures: Here, you can find patios, sheds, water tanks, facades, and outdoor tile areas to add to exterior of your house.
• Paths & Driveways: Add paths and driveways to make home and exterior area accessible with.
• Privacy & Shade: From this section, you can enclose your yard with fences & gates, screens, and shades.

Planner 5D is a nice free home designing app for Windows 10. Along with home interior, you can design the exterior of your house. Using it, you can create paths and lawns, garden furniture, trees and plants, garage, pool, lighting, etc. It also lets you add other outdoor accessories such as swings, shades, etc. Just drag and drop a particular item and create a desired outdoor for your house.

It comes with few demo home project with exterior designs. You can use those sample projects or start with a new one. Simply drag and drop a component to your design and adjust its placement. You can make adjustments to a component by using move, rotate, mirror, copy, etc. options. Both 2D and 3D view modes are provided in it.

It lets you save your project in the app only. Still, you can share the exterior design via email, OneNote, etc.

Planner 5D is a basic exterior design app for Windows 10. Its free version contains many limitations such as less number of free built-in components, you can’t modify an object, etc. You need to buy its pro version to use all features.

RoomSketcher Home Designer

RoomSketcher Home Designer is another free home exterior design software for Windows. In comparison to other software, it provides limited outdoor components. You can find Barbecue Grill, Benches, Bridges, Pools, Cars, Tables, Lawn Mower, Patio Beach Chair, Patio Bench, Sunbed, etc. exterior accessories in Outdoor section. It also provides a Plants and Accessories section to decorate your garden area.

You can modify components by specifying dimensions. Additionally, you add labels and rotate and move an object make correct adjustments. It provides only 2D plan view in its free version.

To save the exterior home design, you can setup camera position and take a snapshot from right panel. The snapshot is saved as a PNG image.

This free exterior design software is useful in designing bedrooms, living rooms, office rooms, bathroom, etc.
