You just need to use its export feature in order to convert the format of OBJ model to DXF format. Other than DXF, you can convert OBJ to a number of file formats including DWG, 3DS, DAE, SKP, GLB, and more.

Additionally, it lets you modify the input OBJ model as you get a lot of design tools and options. How to convert OBJ to DXF in Autodesk 123D Design:

  • Firstly, use its Import > 3D Model option in order to browser and open an OBJ model in it.

  • Next, go to its Model icon and click the Export as 3D > DWG/ DXF option and select DXF as output format to convert OBJ to DXF.

  • Convert OBJ to DXF using its File > Export Mesh As option.

How to convert OBJ to DXF in JNetCAD:

  • Launch this portable software and import an OBJ model to it.
  • Now, you can view the model using available tools.
  • Next, click the File > Save as function, set output file type as DXF format, and press the Save option.

Conclusion:

It is a nice OBJ file viewer that also lets you convert OBJ to DXF format. Other than OBJ, you can also view 3D models present in STL, DXF, and 3DS formats.

NuGraf

NuGraf is yet another OBJ to DXF converter software for Windows. It lets you convert one or multiple OBJ models to DXF and other file formats including DWG, STL, PLY, SLDASM, IGES, DWF, 3DS, STP, etc. In case you want to view and analyze imported OBJ model before conversion, you can use its import and export functions.

How to convert one or more OBJ to DXF in NuGraf:

  • Firstly, open its Batch Convert tool from the File menu.
  • Now, add one or multiple source OBJ files to this software that you want to convert.
  • Next, select output format as DXF R12 and configure output parameters including output polygon, separate polygon into separate layers, output enables (polygons, 3D point set, polylines, etc.), line terminator type, etc.
  • Finally, set output location and then hit the Convert Files! option to batch convert OBJ to DXF.

Limitation:

This free version of NuGraf doesn’t convert every 5th polygon of each object in output.

Conclusion:

It is a decent batch OBJ to DXF converter to convert a set of OBJ models to DXF and various other 2D and 3D file formats. But, I would recommend you check its free version limitation before using it for the conversion.
