Here is a list of Best Free Pool Design Software For Windows. These freeware are basically home and exterior design software which can be used to create a pool design of your own requirements. While many of these provide direct options to create a pool, some of these provide pool accessories to make a desired swimming pool design. One of these swimming pool design software is a 3D modeling software. Using it, you can build a 3D pool model using tools like line, shapes, push/pull, materials, paint, etc.

You can start with creating pool shape and then add pool accessories like stairs, fountain, diving board, springboard, beach chairs, plants, floater, handrail, etc. to the design. In one of these pool design software, you can even create a pool deck. To customize a pool design, you can specify or change input parameters including pool dimensions (depth, width, height), wall color, wall style, bottom color, bottom style, coping width, coping height, coping color, coping style, water elevation, etc.

2D and 3D view modes and easy navigation options are provided in all of these software. You can configure camera settings too look through pool design from the desired position. To save pool design, most of these support their respective project format only. But in some of these, you can also save a snapshot of pool design as an image or directly print the pool design.

Realtime Landscaping Architect

Realtime Landscaping Architect is a good pool design software for Windows. It provides direct tools to create a swimming pool. This is a demo version which can be used for free without time limitation. But, you get less number of inbuilt components and few feature restrictions as compared to the paid version.

Create a pool using Realtime Landscaping Architect:

After creating a blank project, move to its Swimming Pool tab. From here, you can create pool shape, deck, stairs, seat, wall, light, water, and other pool accessories (beach ball, diving board, mat, ladder, floater, handrail, etc.). The best part of this swimming pool design software is that all of these components are divided into respective categories, so you can easily find and place an object to your pool design. Let’s discuss these categories in brief:

• Pool: From here, draw a desired shape of the pool and modify its properties such as size, material, height, wall width, water effect, wall material, coping properties, infinity edge and glass options, tile, depth, etc.
• Pool Deck: Design a pool deck here while specifying its parameters as per your requirements, such as size, angle, height, elevation, shininess, coping, tile, deck material, etc.
• Pool Stairs: Attach stairs to your swimming pool at desired points in your model. You can then customize step rise, step run, depth, number of steps, curve type, nosing, tile, and material properties of pool stairs.
• Pool Seat: Add pool seats here while editing its depth, round corners, bevel corners, nosing, finish material, etc.
• Pool Walls: You can draw pool walls by connecting points on pool boundaries. You can later customize its material, size, width, elevation, coping, etc. properties.
• Pool Light: It also lets you add pool lights to your design as per your choice. Here, you can customize light model, range, beam angle, color, etc. parameters.

DreamPlan

DreamPlan is a nice swimming pool design software. It is free for non-commercial purpose only.

To design a pool using this software, go to Exterior tab > Pools option. From here, you first need to draw pool boundaries. After doing so, you can customize pool depth, wall color, wall style, bottom color, bottom style, coping width, coping height, coping color, coping style, and water elevation. Additionally, you can add pool ladders and diving boards to your design by going to Misc section in Exterior tab.

As it is basically an interior and exterior design software, you can also add plants, bench, chairs, etc. objects to your pool design and create a beautiful pool design. You can also add text labels to the pool design. It lets you toggle between 2D blueprint, 2D rendered, and 3D view modes to see and navigate through your designs.

In this swimming pool design software, you can save pool design as its project file. Or, you can save a screenshot of designed pool or directly print it.

DreamPlan is one of my favorite pool design freeware as it reduces the pain of creating a pool by providing direct tools to do so.

SketchUp Make

SketchUp Make is another alternative to a swimming pool design software. Although it doesn’t directly provide pool designing components, you can use its 3D modeling tools to design a pool.

How to design a swimming pool in SketchUp Make:

SketchUp Make provides various drawing tools which help you draw a 3D model. These drawing tools include line, arc, shapes, paint bucket, scale, outer shell, solid tools, push/pull, etc. To start with, follow these simple steps:

1. Draw boundaries of the swimming pool using line, shape, or freehand drawing tool. Again draw an area within previously drawn boundaries. You can lower the surface of this area using push/pull tool.
2. You can now modify inner area using Water Material from Materials section present in the right panel. Similarly, you can edit the material of the outer part of the model using different kinds of materials. The drawn 3D model will appear exactly like a swimming pool.

This will create a simple swimming pool model. You can enhance the pool model further by drawing pool stairs and other additional components required for a swimming pool. Here is a video tutorial for the beginners.

You can also download and import a sample of pool from Components section. Later, it lets you modify the pool sample as per your requirements.

It lets you configure Camera settings such as standard views (top, bottom, left, right, etc.), parallel projection, perspective, two-point perspective, orbit, pan, field of view, position camera, walk, look around,  etc. to see through your pool design.

The pool design can be exported as JPEG, TIFF, BMP, 3DS, DWG, FBX, OBJ, etc. files.

SketchUp Make is good pool design software for the people who are pro at 3D modeling. It provides a good range of tools in its free version such as 3D text, tape measure, protractor, dimensions, paint bucket, etc. Using these tools, you can further enhance a pool design or generic 3D model.

Note: The free version of this software is free for personal use only. It also contains functionalities of its pro version which you can enjoy for first 30 days.

Live Home 3D

Live Home 3D is a free pool design app for Windows 10. It is basically a home plan designer app which provides a few samples of swimming pools and pool accessories which you can use to create a whole pool design.

How to create your own swimming pool in this free pool design app for Windows 10:

As you launch this app, you can view various components divided in different categories including Fence, Garage Doors, Gates, Opening, Outdoors, etc. One of these is Swimming Pool where you will find some pool designs and related accessories, such as circular pool design, rectangular pool design, pool stairs, springboard, etc. You can drag and drop objects one by one, place them accordingly, and create your own swimming pool design.

You can later modify input parameters like width, height, depth, elevation, rotation, object material, color, building properties, etc. You can also use its handy tools including text annotation, lock objects, make an object invisible, etc.

It provides both 2D and 3D modes to view your designs. SOme of its navigation options worth mentioning include fly around selected point, choose which way you walk, and look around from current position.

The final pool design can be exported in 3D view as a PNG, JPEG, TIFF, or BMP image file. While doing so, you can customize options like mode (3D view or 3D view 360 panorama), output image size, etc. The output image of the swimming pool contains a watermark.

Overall, it is a decent pool design app plus a nice home designer app for Windows 10. Although its free version contains many limitations, it contains enough features to design your own swimming pool.

RoomSketcher Home Designer

RoomSketcher Home Designer is another free pool design application for Windows.

It is also a home designer tool which lets you create a dream home. You can find different categories to decorate different sections in your home, such as Bedroom, Dining Room, Kitchen, Hall, Office, Bathroom, etc. There is an Outdoor category also which contains various pool related accessories. Here, you will find 2 pool designs (circular, rectangular), stairs, beach chairs, etc. You can further accessorize the pool design with plants and other objects.

From right panel, you can customize pool design by modifying its parameters including width, height, and depth. You can also modify properties of related accessories. Additionally, it provides text labels, lock, and fixed options too.

From Camera section, you can configure camera settings to take a snapshot of the created pool design. The generated picture can be saved as a PNG image.

It is another good alternative to a swimming pool design software.

Note: The free version of this application is feature limited like 3D mode is disabled, you can only save up to 5 projects in it, etc.
